New BIMI Documents Published

The BIMI Working Group recently published a number of new articles related to BIMI, including updated IETF drafts. For a breakdown of the new documents, please see below for additional context and user guidance.

  • Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) – IETF Draft v01
    • This document specifies how Domain Owners (brands) communicate their desired Indicators (logos/images) through the BIMI Assertion Record in DNS and how that record is to be interpreted by MTAs and MUAs. MUAs and mail-receiving organizations are free to define their own policies for making use of BIMI data and for Indicator display as they see fit.
  • SVG Tiny Portable/Secure – IETF draft v00
    • This document specifies SVG Tiny Portable/Secure (SVG Tiny PS), a Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) profile to be used for constructing BIMI-compatible images. This document may be used by brands looking for comprehensive information on BIMI SVG Tiny P/S images. For a summary of logo requirements, visit the BIMI Group SVG Tiny P/S FAQ.
  • SVG Tiny P/S RNC
    • The RNC SVG validation schema that can be used to evaluate if images adhere to the BIMI-specified standard for logos; the tool mirrors the specifications within the SVG Guidelines document. A more detailed description of how to use the RNC validation schema will be published soon.
